The scores are in!  Deady students in grades 6-8 have shown significant improvement in math, science, social studies and reading on the spring 2008 TAKS tests. 

Eighth grade students grew 21.5% in social studies scores and 34% in science scores.  Reading scores for students in grades 6-8 jumped 11% and math scores moved up 8%.

Students in grade 8 must pass both the reading and math sections of the TAKS test in order to be promoted to 9th grade.  Eighth graders not passing either of these sections must attend summer school and retake the tests in early July.
